Product Manager Role Description
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, the successful candidate will be based in Midrand and will be responsible for the following:
- Achieving GP Target on monthly basis
- Managing stock within budget and weeks of inventory
- Manage Aging stock within budget
- Strategic ordering of product
- Management of sell in target set by HP Inc.
- Management of Sell out programs
- Achieving sell out target set by Pinnacle
- Manage relationship with vendor
- Management of an OTB
- Management of OTB maps
- Understanding of HP Inc product range and value proposition will be extremely beneficial
- Understanding and continuous development on product knowledge
- Provide relevant product training internally and to the different branches
- Provide reports and target tracking information as required
- Engage with all relevant parties at Pinnacle and subsidiary companies
- Understand and implement Pinnacle strategy and policies in alignment with product
- Product support (PDF Spec Sheets, Web Info, Sales Support, Customer Support-Systems Integrators)
- Product pricing
- Manage the profitability of products
- Assist sales staff with quotations
- Understand HP Inc compensation program
- Provide sales support to sales staff
- Ensure all resources are aligned - Training
- Stay constantly updated with all developments and trends in the market
- Understand technology roadmaps - Logistical
- Maintain ERP system up to date with product codes and pricing agreements
- Attend weekly sales meetings and assist in resolving stock issues - Manage stock efficiently
- Drive active and aging stock
- Understand the logistical process
- Assist in order managing process to maintain service and stock levels - Build and maintain internal and external relationships
- Liaise with suppliers for promotional funds and materials
- Maintain relationships with customers to understand their requirements and incorporate into the stock forecasting

- Matric with mathematics is essential, an IT or sales and marketing tertiary qualification and/or relevant diploma is essential
- Minimum 3 years work experience within an IT environment
- Previous IT distribution experience will be an advantage
- Must understand the IT market and the specific needs around the different market segments
- Above average computer literacy in MS word, Outlook, PowerPoint and MS Excel
- Relevant technical knowledge and technology driven
- Ability to learn products with ease
- Spreadsheet knowledge in drawing up and utilizing reports (Rate of Exchange linked costing calculations, stock management, product reordering, ageing stock etc.)
