HP Business Development Manager - Channel (HPi - Midrand) Role Description

Reporting to the HP Business Unit Manager, the successful candidate will be based in Midrand and will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Target Management
    o Managing and report back weekly / monthly pipeline
    o Focus on sell to market growth strategy into Channel
    o Meeting the monthly sales target / closing deals
    o Support the Sales team and develop new sales

 

  • Customer Relationships/Account Planning
    o Identifying and understanding role players in each assigned account
    o Liaise between vendor and customers to efficiently communicate deliveries and ETA’s
    feedback etc
    o Portraying professionalism and confidence that delivers the ultimate in customer service
    o To build and maintain an active customer base to support the sales team
    o Proactivity on sales by implementing an agreed sales strategy with the Account manager
    on named accounts
    o Understanding of each assigned account, with the ability to give regular feedback
    o Quotations should meet specifications as per requirement, thorough insight of specific
    account or department should be taken into consideration when quoting
    o To capitalize on opportunities through negotiation of prices to achieve sales targets set
    by the Management team
    o Maintain an agreed level of pro-active telephone contact with both existing and
    prospective customers
    o Effectively deal with mail / telephone enquiries requesting quotations for products,
    compiling information on the desired products or datasheets
    o Maximize sales by continually expanding orders and up selling on all incoming and
    outgoing calls
    o Cross-discipline team working

 

  • Vendor Relationship
    o Making sure that relationships are maintained with key HP contacts that are required to
    be successful
    o Attend product training updates provided by HP
    o Understand the development strategy for the vendor and implement in relevant sector
    o Will have access to HP University Training

 

  • Quoting & Sales
    o Compilation and follow up of quotations on HP products
    o Attending to sales calls/enquiries
    o Knowledge on how special bids and pricing work
    o Increase customer coverage/count for HP and Pinnacle
    o Meet and exceed the agreed SLA’s on quoting

Requirements

 

  • Matric with mathematics is essential and a sales/technical tertiary qualification and/or relevant diploma
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ IT Enterprise experience is preferred
  • Vaccination Certificate Required
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels including high profile clients and projects i.e. excellent relationship building skills
  • Established habit of working smart without close supervision, with a “Service Orientated” attitude
  • Own transport and valid driver’s license
  • Good time management and well organized i.e., deadline driven, able to plan and prioritize a high workload
  • Above average computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
