Internal Account Manager Role Description

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be based in Durban and will be responsible for the following: 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Customer Relationships

  • Identifying and understanding role players in each assigned account 
  • Liaise between divisions and customers to communicate deliveries and eta feedback etc 

Account Planning

  • Proactivity on sales by implementing an agreed sales strategy on accounts 
  • Understanding of each assigned account, with the ability to give regular feedback 
  • Quotations should meet specifications as per requirement, thorough insight of specific account or Department should be taken into consideration when quoting 
  • Specific objectives set for each account / ownership of account / understanding of individual account's terms and conditions
  • Excellent time management and personal organizational skills 

Sales Support

  • Support the Sales team and develop new sale 
  • Maintain an agreed level of pro-active telephone contact with both existing and prospective customers 
  • Effectively deal with telephone enquiries requesting quotations for products; compiling information on the desired products or datasheets
  • Maximize sales by continually expanding orders and up selling on all incoming and outgoing calls
  • Liaise on a daily basis with the external sales team and update them on any developments on their accounts, ensuring a high level of team relationships exist
  • Cross-discipline team working 

Order Process - Consultative Selling

  • Create quotations from requests received
  • Ensure orders received are entered into the system accurately
  • Meet and exceed the agreed SLA’s on quoting and deliveries
  • Ensure a consistent closure rate within appropriate timelines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Follow up on warehouse until in production and to delivery
  • Follow up on all quotations 

Client Communication

  • Ensure that all customer complaints, issues and queries reach a successful and appropriate conclusion 

Activity Reporting

  • Processing of relevant orders, delivery notes / collection notes, back orders, ETA's and feedback communication
  • Filing of relevant documents
  • Follow up of queries, quotations, deliveries, payments timeously
  • Provide management with sales on hand reports timeously on a weekly basis

Requirements

 

  • Matric with mathematics and a tertiary qualification and/or a relevant diploma will be an advantage
  • Minimum three (3) years’ IT distribution sales support work experience
  • Minimum three (3) sales experience with data infrastructure related product
  • Service quality orientated
  • Ability to work under pressure
