Junior Presales Engineer Role Description

Reporting to the HP Brand Executive, the successful candidates will be based in Midrand and will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Target Management
    o Managing and report back weekly and/or monthly pipeline
    o Achievement of Sell Out Target Monthly on HPE
    o Meeting the monthly sales target/closing deals

  • Client Management
    o Advise customers as well as internal and external sales teams
    o Increase vendor product coverage for HPE

  • Vendor Relationship
    o Making sure that relationships are maintained with key HPE contacts that are required to be successful
    o Attend product training updates at Hewlett Packard Enterprise
    o Will have access to internal HPE pre-sales engineer as support role

  • Quoting & Sales
    o Compilation of quotations on Hewlett Packard Enterpriseo Solution scoping and design
    o Attending to sales calls/enquiries
    o Knowledge on how special bids and pricing work

  • HPE Certification
    o Complete training on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise online portal and become certified
    o Knowledge and understanding of server, storage, and networking technologies

Requirements

 

  • Matric with mathematics is essential and a sales/technical tertiary qualification and/or relevant diploma is optional.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ IT Enterprise experience is preferred
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels including high profile clients and projects 
  • Established habit of working smart without close supervision, with a “Service Orientated” attitude
  • Own transport and valid driver’s license
  • Good time management and well organized i.e., deadline driven, able to plan and prioritize a high workload
  • Above average computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Service quality orientated
  • Customer focused and delivering above average customer service i.e., customer satisfaction principles and practices
  • Copes effortlessly within a high stress and pressurized environment
