Training Coordinator Role Description

Reporting to the HR Executive, the successful candidates will be based in Midrand and will be responsible for the following: 

Key Responsibilities


  •  Training Reports

    • Create a monthly report to capture and track all training completed in the Company 
    • Compile a detailed quarterly report of all training 
    • Collect information from all stakeholders across the company to compile accurate reports 
    • Create and manage training registers, review them to put to training report 
    • Prepare annual WSP in full 
    • Collaborate with the Alviva Group SDF to ensure all reporting requirements are met 

  • Training Management and Co-ordination

    • Schedule and coordinate training within the Company 
    • Manage the Company training calendar 
    • Liaise with training providers, participants and facilitators to ensure training programs are planned and run smoothly 
    • Manage all aspects of Pinnacle’s customized leadership and management program 
    • Create and manage training registers per session 
    • Manage training service providers, discuss and resolve issues and communicate the outcome to the relevant participants and managers 
    • Manage training on the internal HR system 
    • Draw up training agreements 
    • Ensure all training related payments are made timeously 
    • Assist in managing the Skills Development 
    • Plan and suggest skills development initiatives to ensure Pinnacle meets required BEE Skills Development targets 
    • Suggest new training providers and source new courses as required 
    • Hold career development discussions with employees and managers


  • Learnership Management

    • Take full responsibility for the success of the learnership programs within Pinnacle 
    • Collaborate with the Alviva Group SDF in order to ensure Pinnacle learnership programs are completed as per Group requirements 
    • Decide on what type of learnership programs to offer employees 
    • Manage both employed and unemployed learnership programs 
    • Select and motivate employees to enroll on the programs and to complete 
    • Schedule and co-ordinate learnerships and track the learner progress on a bi-weekly basis 
    • Track learner performance, assignment completion, as well as time and attendance 
    • Prepare learnership agreements 
    • Collect and collate all required documentation for the SETAs 
    • Collect all the relevant information for learnerships and manage contracts 
    • Courier learnership assignment files to the service providers 

  • Other

    • Manage special training projects as they arise 
    • Conduct Company skills audits 
    • Track product and other accreditations and training for Sales and Brand employees 
    • Create soft skills internal training material 
    • Manage internal product or brand certifications 
    • Assist with induction training 
    • Produce training statistic for presentation to Exco 
    • Compile and review training policies and procedures 
    • Assist with the marketing of training programs 
    • Submit reports to the EE committee and provide an update on the trainee progress and training 
    • Think of innovative ways in which to automate the training function 
    • Streamline processes and operations within the training function

  • Matric and relevant HR Qualification is required (preferably a degree or diploma) 
  • Registered SDF qualification is advantageous  
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience within an HR environment, preferably specializing in training and development 
  • Must have a passion for training and development 
  • Thorough understanding how the SETA's operate and preferably have experience in working with MICT SETA 
  • Excellent knowledge and proven experience of learnership management, managing multiple learnership programs at once
  • Proven experience in compiling training reports and in compiling a WSP for a medium or large size organization 
  • Knowledge of the IT industry would be advantageous 
  • Excellent communication, writing and people skills 
  • Experience collaborating with training providers 
  • Ability to motivate and coach others 
  • Experienced in holding career discussions 
  • Must be detail orientated 
  • Excellent administration skills and enjoy administrative tasks 
  • Good time management and well organized i.e. deadline driven, able to plan and prioritize a high workload 
  • Own transport and valid driver’s license 
  • Above average computer literacy in MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint 
  • Excel skills must be intermediate at minimum
