Role Description

Location: Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa

Full-time and Office based

Reporting: eCommerce Specialist

Job Purpose

As an eCommerce Operations Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing duties related to logistics, operations and customer support for our online sales channel.

The successful candidate will ensure efficiency with online sales logistics, operations SLA’s and deadlines. Handle logistics cost control, resolve customer queries and present daily/weekly/monthly reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales:
    • Monitor and track online sales to ensure successful completion up to delivery within SLA period.
    • Co-ordinate between customers and internal departments for any queries related to online sales.
    • Assist with after-sales support including credits, returns and RMA requests.
    • Ensure exception resolutions for failed occurrences – invoices; picking slips; POD’s; credits etc.
  • Support: 
    • Assist with 1st line support for customer queries including: customer onboarding; login difficulties; order related difficulties; co-ordinate resolutions to other teams.
    • Assist and manage eCommerce platform dependences.
  • Reporting:
    • Manage tracker report for online orders daily.
    • Update website reports with logistic; sales order; SLA; customer query data
  • Other:
    • Drive and implement customer communication related to online sales orders.
    • Manage logistics budget for online sales.
    • Complete various departmental tasks for ecommerce, as and when required.
    • Collaborate delivery OTIF metrics with sales and warehouse teams.

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in any logistics, warehouse and/or operations environment.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with first-line customer support and management.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the ICT and/or ecommerce industry.
  • Experience managing and/or supervising logistics for ecommerce orders.

Skills and Education:

  • Matric with mathematics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics and supply chain management or equivalent is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of the workings in Sage ERP or similar ERP.
  • Solid knowledge of the workings in Adobe Commerce (Enterprise) is preferred.
  • Understanding of ecommerce and online shopping processes.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent Excel skills. 
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills. 
  • Ability to complete basic calculations, to work with numbers, and create budgets.
  • Developed Negotiation skills.
  • Able to identify problems regarding workflow and systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills (detail orientated no grammar or spelling issues).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
