External Account Manager: Commercial

Role Description

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Full-time and Office based

Reporting Line: Commercial Sales Manager

Job Purpose

The purpose of the External Account Manager is to nurture and expand the valued customer relationships through consistent communication and dedicated relationship building within the Commercial sector.

You will play a pivotal role in recognizing and addressing customer needs with tailored solutions, actively contributing to the organization's growth by surpassing sales targets and welcoming new customers into our network. A key function will be to collaborate closely with the sales team and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly sales targets
  • Establish and grow a new client base within the Commercial sector
  • Maintain client relationships across the Commercial sector
  • Maintain current client database and forecasts
  • Develop sales plans per account
  • Deliver product presentations and entertain clients
  • Managing the sales process
  • Generate sales leads and constant follow up with deals
  • Identify sales opportunities to market products and the company
  • Compilation of all quotations
  • Following up on quotes and convert to orders
  • Attend product training and events
  • Processing and administration of relevant sales documentation

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in External Sales
  • Minimum of 3 years of account management experience within the Commercial sector is preferred
  • Established network at various levels within the reseller and end-user sector
  • Sales experience within the IT Distribution industry will be advantageous
  • Proven track record of closing deals within the IT sector (references are required)

Skills and Education:

  • Matric, preferably with mathematics

  • A tertiary qualification and/or a relevant diploma in Sales, Marketing, or IT will be an advantage

  • Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Proven sales skills/ability

  • Excellent verbal and written business communication

  • Good presentation skills

  • Organized individual who is deadline driven with good time management

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Developed negotiation skills
