The government's transition to implementing democracy proved to be a true blessing for me. It led me to secure a position at one of Africa's prominent ICT companies. The Fourie brothers played a pivotal role in my growth as a valued member of the Pinnacle team.

My responsibilities encompass operating the switchboard and reception, allowing me to engage with clients. It's a remarkable achievement to share my knowledge about the ICT field with them. Maintaining effective communication with clients, offering clear guidance, and adeptly handling various situations are aspects of my role that I particularly enjoy.

Being a woman representing such a prestigious establishment brings me immense joy, especially when the company consistently delivers outstanding results. This month, we proudly salute "UMBOKOTO," the rock of our organisation.

My journey with the company began in January 2001. The key factors that have led me to my current position are my eagerness to learn the job's demands and my genuine passion for the work itself. Throughout my tenure, I've garnered essential lessons -  the significance of getting it right from the outset, the value of patience, and the power of attentive listening.

My motivation springs from those who have had faith in me, granting me the opportunity to excel. Their trust in me to represent the forefront of our endeavours has been truly inspiring.

It's hard to believe how time flies when you're having fun. From floppy disks to cloud computing, I’ve witnessed the IT landscape transform into what it is today.

I will be officially hitting the 15-year mark at Pinnacle in September and am proudly flaunting 31 years of IT adventures under my belt! Many of you might not have been born yet. I've seen more keyboards than I can count, survived more debugging sessions than I care to admit, and formed bonds that are unbreakable.

So, here's to us ladies - the fierce IT warriors who've battled through glitches, embraced innovation, and proved that the tech world is better with a female touch of genius. The powerhouses who've broken barriers, shattered glass ceilings, and shown that tech knows no gender!

Here's to more years of breaking boundaries and living out loud in the digital realm!

Here's to us, the queens of IT and the kings who stand with us, ruling the IT world like the absolute legends we are!

Thank you for being a part of my incredible journey.

Pamela Geya – Port Elizabeth

Joined Pinnacle in 2018

On October 1st, 2018, I embarked on my role as a Receptionist. I vividly recall Darryl guiding me on how to handle the switchboard. In the initial days, I even dreamt about answering calls on the switchboard - quite amusing! This journey has been truly remarkable, marked by accomplishments and personal growth. I've acquired qualifications, boosted my self-confidence, and embraced a resilient "I CAN DO IT" mindset.

My motivation comes from within; I define myself not merely by my achievements, but by how I navigate challenges. What I cherish most about my job is the opportunity to answer calls with a smile - that's the highlight for me. I genuinely adore my work and am deeply grateful for every chance I receive.

Orpah Tjiundje – Windhoek

Joined Pinnacle in 2022

I began my journey with Pinnacle in February 2002, starting as a cleaner and gradually advancing to the role of a filing clerk. Through unwavering commitment and diligence, I progressed further to become a receptionist, manning the switchboard.

In December 2012, I resigned to accompany my husband, who was relocated from Windhoek to Rosh Pinah by his employer. After three years, my family and I returned to Windhoek, and I had the privilege of rejoining the Pinnacle team in the same capacity as before, as a receptionist.

Having returned to the same role, I've come to realise that Pinnacle is truly my professional home. One of the aspects I cherish most about my job is the opportunity to interact with and assist our valued clients.

I commenced my journey at Pinnacle as a learner within the HR Department. That same year, on June 20, 2022, I signed my permanent contract as a Squared Assistant in the HR Department. While I enjoyed my time there, it wasn't quite what I had in mind.

I often admired Simpiwe's skillful client interactions and noticed the joy it brought her in her reception role. It was during this observation that I realised I wanted to find that same happiness and fulfilment in my work. Given my affinity for working with people, since I am a people person, I recognised that interacting with clients brought out the best in me. Their contentment became my own source of happiness.

When Sulize mentioned that the reception role was available and asked if I wanted to take it on, I turned to prayer. Providentially, the opportunity came to fruition, and I embraced it wholeheartedly. I have come to love my new position as it allows me to connect with new individuals daily, unveiling the diverse array of personalities that exist. Ensuring that clients receive the utmost assistance, thereby leaving a positive impression on our company's name, truly brings me joy.

I would willingly repeat this journey over and over again. I take immense pride in being a part of Pinnacle and serving as the face of the company.
