News: Unlocking 2022 with Pinnacle Techscape

Unlocking 2022 with Pinnacle TechScape

Pinnacle Techscape is a bi-annual event where approximately 200 customers from every region are taken offsite for three days with the aim of networking and providing them with a full overview on what Pinnacle has to offer.

This year Pinnacle opted to take clients to the Champagne Sports Resort in Drakensberg from 22 – 25 February 2022. Being the first to market with this calibre of event for 2022 was a goal set out by the team, and one that was certainly achieved. From arrival to departure, clients could not get enough of finally being able to engage with industry friends.

The theme for this year’s event was focused around #UNLOCKED and this was brought to light during Pinnacle’s CEO, Tim Humphreys-Davies, welcoming presentation where he spoke about government lockdown restrictions being lifted allowing us the opportunity to unlock revenue and opportunities – amongst others.

Day 1

Guests had lunch ready and waiting as they arrived at Champagne Sports Resort on 22 February, after which they were escorted into the main presentation hall to be welcomed by Pinnacle’s CEO, Tim Humphreys-Davies. As with previous years, Tim’s presentation was a huge hit consisting of various relatable humour that we as South Africans can have a good laugh over, before heading into some statistics related to the market and industry.

Tim’s presentation was followed by none other than Pinnacle’s Huawei Brand Director, Fred Saayman. Pinnacle would like to give a big shout out to Huawei for being the platinum sponsor at this year’s event, and for the support they have offered Pinnacle since initiating their distribution partnership.

The evening ended off with a Mexican Fiesta dinner sponsored by Proline. Guests enjoyed an evening by the pool where they could choose between a variety of Mexican inspired cuisine. The highlight for the evening was definitely being able to enjoy a performance by the Drakensburg Boys Choir.

Day 2

After being treated to a hearty breakfast, guests kick-started the day with a Lenovo plenary session presented by Thibault Dousson (Country General Manager at Lenovo). This was followed by sessions from Dell Technologies, Commvault and Infinidat.

A big thank you to Doug Woolley (Dell Technologies: General Manager Southern Africa & VP Sales), Chris Buchanan (Dell Technologies: Director - Client Solutions Russia & Africa) and Kate Mollett (Senior Director Commvault Africa) for taking the time to present.

Once the formalities were complete, guests enjoyed a variety of leisure activities which included either a spa treatment, canopy tour, hike, or playing a round of golf sponsored by Lenovo. Dinner was filled with competitive fun thanks to a game’s night sponsored by Dell Technologies. The games for the evening included Bingo and a Kahoot! quiz.

Day 3

The plenary sessions kicked off with a presentation from Hikvision South Africa, presented by Brent Saaiman (Senior Project Sales Manager at Hikvision SA), and ended off with a presentation from ASUS which was presented by Jasmine Lin (Country Product Manager Head at Asus South Africa). With the plenary sessions having come to an end, guests enjoyed the rest of the afternoon exploring the Techscape Exhibition which consisted of over 25 vendor stands. Once guests were all clued up following the exhibition, it was time to get dressed up for formal gala dinner.

Once guests had enjoyed a lovely meal, the awards ceremony had concluded, thanks were given where thanks were due – the rest of the evening was spent dancing, networking and making unforgettable memories.

Thank you to all participating vendors as well as our exceptional Pinnacle team for making this event possible.
