Role Description

Location: Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa

Full-time and Office based

Reporting Line: Dell Client BU

Job Purpose

Business development managers are primarily responsible for driving business growth, and duties vary on a day-to-day basis. Typical responsibilities include: Creating development plans and forecasting sales targets and growth projections. Identifying market opportunities through meetings, networking and other channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with both the defined set of Dell Technologies Partners and selected resellers.
  • Grow share of wallet of Dell branded products across Pinnacle’s customer base with special focus on storage.
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams for emerging Dell Technologies into these accounts.
  • Provide weekly sales forecast to management.
  • Provide input to product team regarding stock holding.
  • Work with reseller partners to devise Dell Technologies growth strategies and implementing these strategies.
  • Help with marketing strategies and assist with the sales process.
  • Identify and help implement market strategies.
  • Disseminate product information to sales and customers (including training schedule)
  • Position vendor product set as part of product dissemination.
  • Track and share market knowledge on competitive brands.
  • Keep abreast of latest technology and relevance to Dell Technologies Brand
  • Have knowledge of roadmaps and product life cycles

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ IT related experience 

     

  • Distribution experience is advantageous.

  • Working experience in a customer service environment

Skills and Education:

  • Matric with mathematics is essential.

     

  • A tertiary degree/diploma is essential, a Sales & Marketing or IT qualification will be advantageous.

     

  • Knowledge and understanding of the ICT market will be advantageous.

  • Excellent computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint 

  • Working late occasionally when required 

  • Attend training sessions – during working hours and after 

  • Be able to work in a pressured environment.

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Good administration skills 

  • Attention to detail i.e. meticulous. 

  • High level of customer service 

  • Intermediate understanding of Finance
