Job Purpose
The purpose of an HP Business Development Manager is to drive growth and profitability for HP products and services. This is achieved by identifying new business opportunities, developing, and implementing strategic plans, and building relationships with key partners and customers. The role involves working closely with the HP vendor, internal sales and marketing team to ensure that business objectives are met. The Business Development Manager is responsible for analyzing market trends, identifying new growth areas, and developing strategies to increase market share and revenue.
Recruitment Specialist
Target Management
- Managing and report back weekly pipeline to grow HPI sales & SOW within Pinnacle
- Achievement of GP Target, stock target and ageing target
Client Management
- Increase customer breadth - Monthly customer RAD Plan (Retain, Acquire and Develop) accounts and tracking thereof
- Regular face-to-face customer visits
- Provide internal and external training on HPI products/services and processes
- Understand HP Inc compensation program/s
- Maintain relationships with customers to understand their requirements and incorporate into the stock forecasting
Vendor Relationship
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key HPI contacts
- Attend bi-weekly HP category meetings to ensure vendor alignment with sales strategy
- Understand the development strategy for the vendor and implement in the Commercial & Education sectors
Quoting & Sales
- Solution scoping and design/Quotations
- Provide sales support to Pinnacle sales teams
- Conversion of quotations
- Attending to customer and internal sales team’s calls/enquiries daily
- Registering special bids on HP’s iQuote system
HPI Certifications
- Subject matter expert on all HP Inc products – notebooks, desktops, accessories, and services
- Complete training and become certified on the HP Inc Portal
- Stay constantly updated with all developments and trends in the market
Experience and Knowledge:
- Proven administration skills Proven track record of sales success (preferably within the ICT Distribution industry)
- Working experience in a customer service environment
- Experience building relationships both externally and internally
- Prior experience working in a target driven position (minimum of three years)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a logistics environment
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience collaborating with sales teams
- Previous experience selling and working with customers at all levels of an organization including high-profile customers
Skills and Education:
- Matric, preferably with mathematics
- A tertiary qualification and/or a relevant diploma in Sales, Marketing, or IT will be an advantage
- Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Must have MS Excel Skills at a minimum of an Intermediate level and be able to use formula, calculations, pivot tables and V-Lookups in a spreadsheet
- Strategic thinker with strong planning and execution skills
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
- Able to complete basic calculations (ability to work with numbers)
- Organized individual who is deadline driven with good time management skills
