Role Description

Location: Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa

Full-time and Office based

Reporting: Brand Executive

Job Purpose

The BDM plays a key role in identifying, nurturing, and developing customer relationships and building strategic partnerships with customers in order to drive revenue growth and expanding market presence of Pinnacle’s Proline Brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive relationships with a fixed set of Proline-focused customers
  • Grow share of wallet of the Proline product set within the identified customer base
  • Collaborate with and educate reseller partners to devise Proline growth strategies and implement these strategies
  • Identify and implement market strategies
  • Use knowledge of product roadmaps and product life cycles to inform sales strategies and to collaborate with product managers to build the brand and achieve revenue growth
  • Market Proline products and manage the sales process
  • Disseminate product information and position vendor product set
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams
  • Provide weekly sales forecast to management
  • Provide input to product team regarding stock holding
  • Continuously keep updated on and improve knowledge on market trends, competitor products and brand knowledge, latest technology

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 3 years sales experience in an external sales or Business Development position
  • Distribution industry experience is required
  • Knowledge of the IT market, reseller channels, marketing and promotional strategies is essential
  • Understanding of IT industry and OEM channel
  • Have knowledge of roadmaps and product life cycles
  • Must be able to display relevant technical product knowledge

Skills and Education:

  • Matric with mathematics is essential, a tertiary qualification and/or a relevant diploma will be an advantage
  • A related tertiary qualification will be an advantage
  • Strategic thinker with strong planning and execution skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Good time management and well organized
  • Excellent customer engagement and proven relationship building skills
  • General business acumen
