Product Manager: Dell (Consumer)
Role Description
Location: Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa
Full-time and Office based
Reporting Line: Client Business Unit Manager
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the internal Dell sales and Product processes to achieve targets and act as a bridge between the internal brand team as well as the organization’s sales team and the vendor.
Recruitment Specialist
- Apply Dell-specific knowledge and understanding of the Dell Consumer Range and value proposition
- Develop and maintain up-to-date product knowledge continuously
- Provide relevant product training internally and across various branches
- Generate reports and target tracking information as required
- Engage with all relevant parties at Pinnacle and its subsidiary companies
- Implement Pinnacle strategy and policies in alignment with the product roadmap
- Support products through creation and sharing of spec sheets, web content, sales support, and customer support for systems integrators
- Manage product pricing and positioning effectively
- Update product listings and information on the website
- Assist sales staff with quotationsDeliver pre-sales and post-sales support to the sales team
- Align all available resources to support business objectives
- Stay informed on developments and trends in the retail and consumer market
- Interpret and apply technology roadmaps to the product strategy
- Assist with setting up product codes, maintaining price lists on systems, and managing costing
- Attend weekly sales meetings and contribute to resolving stock issues
- Drive the movement of active and aging stock
- Support logistics and warehouse teams during vendor recall processes
- Understand and navigate the logistical processes effectively
- Process sales and purchase orders on the ERP system from local and international suppliers
- Assist with the order management process to maintain service and stock levels
- Manage supplier rebates and incentives efficiently
- Liaise with suppliers for promotional funds and marketing materials
- Maintain strong customer relationships to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into stock forecasting
Experience and Knowledge:
- Matric with mathematics is essential
- A Sales and Marketing tertiary qualification and/or a relevant diploma will be an advantage
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ working experience in a Product Management environment will be an advantage
Skills and Education:
- Must understand the IT market and the specific needs around the different market segments (sub-distributors, select resellers, resellers and end-users)
- Administration skills
- Spreadsheet knowledge in drawing up and utilizing reports (stock management, product reordering, ageing stock etc)
- Ability to complete a task with minimum supervision
