Role Description

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Full-time and Office based

Reporting: Technical Manager

Job Purpose

This role requires a qualified computer technician, with exceptional workmanship, to assess, diagnose and repair hardware.

The candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and be able to work diligently and accurately using their developed problem-solving skills to ensure optimal workshop functionality, whilst maintaining effective turnaround times and service levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Desktop repairs – Hardware troubleshooting & repairs to desktop systems
• Component testing repair/ replacement
• Notebook/Mobile/Tablet phone repairs
• Peripheral testing for vendor escalation i.e., printers / digital cameras / CCTV
• Software recovery & repair – all OS’s
• Ability to troubleshoot communications devices i.e., network LAN’s / WAN’s
• Maintaining job card updates & customer feedback on repairs
• Telephonic support
• On-site support

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

• Matric with mathematics is essential
• A+ with 3 years of technical experience
• Be able to work in a well-organized environment
• Be able to complete jobs quickly & efficiently
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Be willing to go the extra mile & complete tasks quickly
• Excellent technical skills are required
• Be able to diffuse delicate situations in a professional manner
• MS Office Suite
• Sound understanding of networking
• Solid Windows operating system (OS) knowledge
• Solid knowledge of Windows processing hardware
