Warehouse Assistant
Role Description
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa
Full-time and Office based
Reporting Line: Warehouse Manager
Job Purpose
The successful Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for assisting in managing the flow of products and stock within the warehouse. The individual will be responsible for receiving and assisting with the dispatch of goods from the warehouse. To ensure success in this field, the person should be physically fit and possess excellent time management and communication skills, as well as being meticulous, trustworthy, organized, and devoted.
- Complete the following activities:
- Picking
- Scanning
- Invoicing
- Boxing
- Barcoding
- Shelving
- Dispatching of orders
- Merchandising
- Stock control and stock take
- Ensure that a high standard of accuracy and neatness is achieved when completing all duties and activities
- Accurate allocation of orders to the relevant department against the shipping method
- Perform regular stock-takes
- Ensure a high level of Health and Safety within the warehouse
- Assist with any additional Warehouse/ Logistics activities requested by the Warehouse Manager
Experience and Knowledge:

A minimum of one (1) year of work experience within a warehouse environment is preferred.

Previous logistics/warehouse work experience within an IT distribution environment will be an advantage.
Skills and Education:
-
Matric with mathematics is essential
-
A tertiary qualification and/or diploma in logistics will be an advantage

Intermediate computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Able to complete basic calculations (ability to work with numbers)

Good administration skills and attention to detail

Customer service training or skills and ability to manage difficult customers

Good written and verbal business communication skills

Ability to carry through a task to completion
